15th May 2012 Tachbrook Street Diamond Jubilee Street Party: Sunday 3rd June
Diamond Jubilee Street Party in Tachbrook Street, Pimlico, London SW1 on Sunday 3rd June from 4:30pm
St James the Less Church has joined with Tachbrook Residents Association, Churton and Charlwood Residents’ Association, Lillington & Longmoore Gardens Residents’ Association and Westminster Artisans (who run the very popular Tachbrook Market) to organise a street party for the Jubilee along part of Tachbrook Street (between Warwick Way and Charlwood Street). The event is being kindly sponsored and supported by local estate agents, Dauntons.
The party is planned for Sunday, 3rd June, from around 4.30pm, following the flotilla on the Thames, which many will go and watch as we are so close to the river.
It is planned to include:
Long tables and chairs set out along Tachbrook Street Food and drink provided by guests – and also provided by local eateries and businesses.
An abundance of bunting and helium balloons decorating Tachbrook Street.
Entertainment for children, in the form of an entertainer or magician – and, we hope, face-painting!
Live music performances for the adults, of classic and more recent tunes.
This will be a really special community event, it having been many years since a street party has happened in this part of Pimlico. Our older residents tell us that they remember street parties for the Coronation but there has not been one for a long time.
We’ve been really excited by the response of all those we’ve spoken to about this event. Pimlico has is such a great community: we’re really looking forward to bringing so many different people together to celebrate the Jubilee.
